Food Bank
The Helping Hands Food Bank is the only food bank in Lewisham providing sustained support for refugee, asylum-seeker, and vulnerable migrant families who are struggling to feed themselves.

About the Food Bank
Our Food Bank provides parcels of fresh food, vouchers and toiletries. Typically this translates to one meal a day for the whole family.
In order to access the Food Bank, you must be assessed as destitute by our Food Bank Director, Helen. Please get in contact with Helen via email: helen@afril.org.uk
Though mainly catering to families who live in Lewisham or Greenwich, we accept referrals for and assess any asylum seekers, refugees, or vulnerable migrant families with no recourse to public funds in need of support.
The Food Bank itself is run more like a community centre, with members encouraged to stay for the whole morning and enjoy our array of refreshments. Our Food Bank Programme also includes our Allotment of Refuge and art@home group.
Donating food supplies
The Food Bank would not be able to operate without generous donations from the community – individuals, families and businesses. To find out more about how to donate food and toiletries to help sustain the service, please email foodbank@afril.org.uk
Alternatively, you can use the donate button (at the top of the screen) to help us purchase food items when we are low on stock.
