About AFRIL

AFRIL was founded in 2006 in order to support asylum seekers, vulnerable migrants and refugees in south east London. We work with our service users to ensure that we provide services that meet their real, complex needs.

We are a small charity, with only mostly part time staff, but we make a real difference. Over time, our user group has changed, and we have transitioned from mainly supporting refugees to working with a more diverse group of families who have complex needs relating to insecure immigration status. We also work with resettled refugee families, and newly arrived asylum seekers in local hostels. We work with other local and national organisations to ensure that we can maximise resources locally.

We support the ‘City of Sanctuary’ vision that the UK will be a welcoming place of safety for all and proud to offer sanctuary to people fleeing violence and persecution.
