The Rainbow Club is a supplementary school for children aged 4-12 years old with English as an additional language. There are priority places for refugees and asylum-seekers. The classes take place every Saturday from 10am-2pm at St Mary Centre, Ladywell Road, London, SE13 6JZ. The school is split into Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 to ensure the children are taught the same subjects as at school. In the morning the focus is on Literacy and Numeracy, working in small groups with a volunteer teaching assistant under the supervision of qualified teachers. In the afternoon the activites vary - it could be drama, or art, or music. All activities are designed to improve the childrens ability to interact, improve confidence and be FUN!
