The Rainbow Club is a supplementary school for children aged 4-12 years old with English as an additional language. There are priority places for refugees and asylum-seekers. The classes take place every Saturday from 10am-2pm at Leemore Central Community Hub, Bonfield Road, Lewisham SE13 5ES. The school is split into Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 to ensure the children are taught the same subjects as at school. In the morning the focus is on Literacy and Numeracy, working in small groups with a volunteer teaching assistant under the supervision of qualified teachers. In the afternoon the activites vary - it could be drama, or art, or music. All activities are designed to improve the childrens ability to interact, improve confidence and be FUN! Previous activities include a trip to the Creekside Centre and our Christmas Party last year. The Rainbow Club celebrated the end of Summer term on 10th July 2010 in style with music, super hero costumes, dancing, awards and plenty of food!
