Message from the AFRIL Board
Giving up your own valuable time to deliver a much-needed service is an amazing thing to do.
AFRIL could not operate without its amazing volunteers – we literally would not be able to provide any of our services in any meaningful sense without all you amazing people who give up your time – your weekends, your evenings and your free time during the week.
We should thank you for that every single day and every single week – and I hope that we do, each time you help out.
Volunteers Week seems a particularly good time to say a huge thank you though – to everyone who helps deliver Rainbow Club, the foodbank, ESOL classes, our advice service, driving, marketing and publicity, fundraising, events, campaigns, activity groups, advocacy on behalf of individuals, and office and project administration. And that includes all our fellow trustees too. Thank you all.
We’ll probably never know exactly how many people have reason to be grateful for the services that you’ve helped AFRIL deliver – but you all help make sure that our corner of London does everything we possibly can to welcome and support asylum-seekers, refugees and migrants and their families.
Thank you,
Lucy Salek, Chair, AFRIL Gareth Redmond-King Vice-Chair, AFRIL
